My new breeders. Heres Rockette, loves her nestbox Heres Rocky Peeky-boo They are doing really well at the moment, although the female has tossed all her nesting material out of the box, lol is this mean she is ready to breed?

It means she likes to do her own house decorating! Just keep chucking it back in - she might get sick of it and leave it in there. Especially do this when she breeds as the babies have messy poops!
Her cere is really dark brown so she is in prime condition - she will breed for you at least once this year.

If you let them they will breed continuously until the hen drops dead. Best thing is not let them have more than around 15 fledged babies a year. You will need to supplement her calcium levels & she'll need to recover. No more than 2 nests in a row unless the clutches are really small (1 or 2 babies per clutch).

her chest has grown somewhat in the two weeks I have had her, I gave them some calcium supplement in her water the other day, how often do we give it to them. I have been told every two days whilst she is breeding.

I only supplement mine for 2 days out of every 2 weeks during breeding season. For another 2 days (out of 2 weeks) I give vitamin supplements. Give a few drops of Betadine in their water once every 3-4 weeks - vitamin B.
