A couple of weeks ago it go so cold that we put the heating up a bit higher for the winter. It is on all day so the temperature of the house remains stable. Every time this happens the budgies and canary go into moult.
Does anyone else have this happen to their birds, I guess since they moult when the season's change maybe the temperature change makes them think summer has come back. The temperature didn't go up by much.

Yeah i am sure my budgies have been moulting there have been quite a few feathers around their cage!!!
The cockatiels havent lost as many though. No one has been plucking either so it must be a moult.

You might want to think about putting the birds into a colder area of the house so that they get to experience the seasons too. It's not natural for them not to experience all the seasons.
