Isn't my baby just gorgeous #heart# Shell, I was the same the first time I hand reared, you think your ready, but the reality is soooo scary, and that little life depends on you doing it right, and you need support. But, your baby was sooooo little, you've done a fantastic job. And you will end up with the tamest bird ever!

From the photo looks like possibly Red Eyes making it a lutino mutation and sex will be hen sorry if i spoilt the surprise but couldn't help myself. Ps if the eyes are plum they will be fairly dark and the mutation will take on a Cinnamon variety cheers Frank

Hi Shell if you don't mind me butting in here LOL I think I can try to explain. If it has red eyes and they don't change color then it will be lutino and female. Dad is a pied so no your baby won't look like him. Lutino is what is called sex linked and looks like dad is carrying the split or what is called the hidden gene. All babies that are lutino's from this pair will always be females as to produce either sex mum must be visual but she is not. Lutino tiels are mostly white all over but will have small amounts of yellow on them too, especially if the male and female are carrying the gene for pied. I am glad I could have been of some help to you shell with the slow crop. Cheers Anna
