Its two weeks today i bought Biggles home, and i cannot get over the personailty of my new little friend.
He adores and demands cuddles, kisses, and scratches. I tickle him all over, under his wings even and he loves it all, to the point where he nudges my fingers or hand for more. He already has mimicked two sounds i make to him. One of them he will fly to me.
In the first week he was nippy at times, not really to be nasty, but a baby thing, and testing me as well. I read an article on line where if they nip you say no, but if they carry on, or hold on they get put on the ground.Made alot of sense, when everything i was trying was not really making a difference. I have been doing that this week, and its slowly working. I can warn him, and he will stop, but if not, he gets put on the floor. The nipping is alot less, and hes nibbling more.
Biggles likes to perch on my thumb, and i hold him like an ice cream cone. He loves really close contact, and will snuggle in under my chin, or if i have a loose sleve, he will crawl in , then up around my back and fall asleep.
He is sneeky too, as when he sees the chance he goes for my earrings or necklace, he hangs on so determinedly i have to gently prise his beak open..little monkey!
I am going to try and harness train him, and at the moment we are playing like its a toy. We will take it very slow, like this for a while. He does not mind the loop over his head at all, and we just play a game with it.
If he gets too soaked after a bath, i towel him, or he perches under his lamp by his cage. You can wrap him up and he will just sleep.
Ive given him lots to chew and nibble, but he still will have a go, at something he should'nt.
Hes rubbing off on Kaeci too, as even Kaeci let me give him a good head rub this week.
