Only 3 of these chicks are theirs. The other 3 belong to the pair below this picture as the hen decided she was more interested in the budgies in the next cage over than her own chicks. This is the other couple (albino babies are theirs):

The white hen is usually very good - her name is Supermum, but this time she just seemed to want at the next hen. She hasn't acted this way before.
The yellow hen is a good foster mum, she was in the box feeding the new 3 before my hands had left the box. I wouldn't foster them if she didn't already have babies. I do have 1 hen that I gave a baby to that didn't even have eggs and she was in love with it! Only thing I wasn't game to let her raise it fully as she has bung feet and has never bred - she has laid eggs which were infertile as I don't think she could mate successfully.
Number of years ago I had this wonderful foster mum, she could never lay her own eggs successfully as they always got stuck either to her butt or feathers and broke. I could give her any chick at any age and she'd successfully and happily rear them. I was offered $600 for her from a breeder but I said no. She raised about 30 chicks for me.

I love the gray! The babies are cute too, of course... Oh, btw, is that pine shavings on the bottom of the nestbox, or a different kind?

aww Karen, its a shame about Supermum not wanting to do it this time, but at least you had a willing foster mum which is good.
Also about the foster mum from years ago, that is lovely, what a wonderful lil lady she must have been, my auntie (real life not bird lol) is like that in real life she fostered so many kids that she was put in the local paper for being such a great foster mum

Been shocking with the updates, sorry guys. The eldest albino died. This is the other albino foster chick - foster mum attacked this bub after it fledged: Blue foster chick - foster mum attacked this bub too after it fledged, can see some marks on it's head: I had to remove the foster mum for the protection of all the chicks. Lacewing chick 1: Lacewing chick 2: Photo didn't turn out - it's a boy! Green chick:

when they have full crops, it looks like a bubble stuck to them. The green one looks like a baby Boris

You are very observant Donna The green & lacewings are half siblings to Boris (same father).
