That's an eye shocking couple! Lovely colors and profiles. The red rump baby looks so... odd... compared to the rest!

thats great karen.. Didn't know they would take another chick thats not a budgie.. Good luck.. Budgies will pretty much feed anything for a few days - until the chick starts becoming obviously different. Already the Red Rump chick has a noticibly different beg (to me anyway) to the budgies. I will have to remove the chick by the end of the week as the risk increases that the hen will know the chick is not 'quite right' and she may at best stop feeding the chick and at worse she might kill it. Although, I could always remove all her budgie chicks and just have her raise the red rump as she might not get confused - I haven't bred her for about 16 months.

I had to remove the red rump chick as the hen stopped feeding it. The 'new' chick is one I swapped the red rump chick for.

Hi, I have 4 albinos solid white and solid yellow (2 of each) and I am going nuts trying to identify their sexes. Albinos are notoriously difficult to determine.
I thought I figured it out by their habits but the one I was positive was a boy just got a tan cere in the last couple days. I really would like to know what I have so at least I understand what they are doing at times. They are in pairs but who knows.
I could try to post a photo if I can get a good shot, the remaining 3 all have the very very light, whitish blue....they used to be all the same, so are all the rest girls? they are all about a year old. Thanks for any help with this..
