ok somewhere I read that theese tiny little gouldians need rather large nest boxes. I kept my nest boxes from when I raised Parakeets/budgies. is that big enough? I don't think they are old enough since they are 7 maybe 8 months old but I do want to be ready when they are

you have a good post there Jodi I just may be able to help you along a little. When Gouldians are ready for breeding you will see the birds beaks start to have black in them the Blacker the beak the closer the birds are ready to breed.
Gouldians only breed in nest boxes a budgie box is a little to big a 6 inch square box with a inspection lid is good.
You will have to ad some nesting material in the box for the gouldians as they are poor nest builders Swamp Grass is best for this.

ok another question LOL How hard is it to get one pair with one nest box to breed? I just know I needed at leat 2 pair and 3 nest boxes to get my budgies to breed.

With breeding Gouldians one pair only need one nest box. You can put in two nest boxes in if you wish, the hen picks the box that she will nest in. I don't have any spare nest boxes in with my Gouldians. The only time I do ad a nest box into the breeding section is if I ad another pair of gouldians to my collection. I hope this helps you Jodi
