I have soemhow missed this post. How are the rest of the chicks Alex? good luck with them, its so frustrating and upsetting when you lose the babies. xxx

havent got any chicks now the ones that got squashed were the only ones to hatch so far. we have more eggs so hopefully they will hatch........i'll let you know when they do.

Good luck with this batch, you will have to paint a little red 'L' on her nest. Rockie parents take a while to get the hang of things don't they. Lovely pictures.
We have a mad blackbird that keeps ripping up all the plants to build nests, she and her partner have twice adopted an earlier nest sat for a bit then gone off to feed. They sit nicely for a few days then seem to get bored. They will learn maybe they are first time parents too, I expect they will do better next season.

thanks for that. yesterday i gave them boiled egg, cucumber and watercress all mixed together............they loved it
