I've read on some websites that bird owners give their birds egg food. Can anyone tell me what it is, where I would get some and should I feed this as part of Kiwi's main diet or a treat? Sorry if I sound really dim but I'm still new to all this

no question is dum if you need it answered we give our birds egg food twice a week, it is part of their main diet but they love it so much they think its a treat you can get it from most bird shops, it comes in various sized bags and costs anything between £4 and £20 (depending on how big you buy). To give it to the bird, put a little in the pot and pour fresh boiled water in and stir, wait to cool and pop it in his/her cage - it will be gone in minutes!! lol hope this helps?

Thats brilliant thanks Sal. Might have to pop out in my lunch to get some Just one more little question - is it ok to give this to all types of birds? IE Joey my New Year addition who's a Blue Crimson Rosella (I just found out what he is from Karen lol)

The Rosella will just ignore it if he doesn't want it. Might even be an idea to offer them some meal worms - some won't eat them but others dive right in.

Thanks for the replies everyone - they both love it and it was great to watch Joey stuff himself silly as I wasn't convinced he was eating enough. I'm going to crush up a hard boiled egg in it's shell tomorrow too to see how they get on with that

mine like mash potato they go daft for it although they only get it every now and again and only a small amount. Try giving her peppers and pommergrante they go daft for the seeds as for the boiled egg mine love them too but we dont give them eggs too often just occasionally as a treat
