why do you think it is wrong to cross the yellow and the green MR K? Are you getting confused here donna?? No probs between yellow and green, my 2 breed. its the cross breeding between yellow fronted and red fronted thats wrong.( the bit above there eyes) its like crossing a blue and gold macaw and a red one to see what the babies turn out like. NO NO

:-/I think i see what you mean , but im such a thicko when it comes to bird genentics.. Although i dont really want them to grow up too quick, i cant wait to see what colours they turn out to be. I do feel sorry for Baldy, must be chilly with no fluff at all. I keep tellimg Mum to put her wing on its head to keep it warm.. she said she would try, but 5 toddlers is a tough job for any bird

aww such sad news this morning, i had a dead baby. Im not sure why, as they were all so well yesterday. Even looking at it, it seems to be fed, crop is full, so maybe it got crushed. its baby 5, dandelion head my little wriggler, always popping its head up above the rest. Little yellow bum, who was doing so well. The only thing i can think of is Mum spent alot of time out yesterday, maybe it missed a feed or something. She had two baths, so she could of made it cold enough, without a feed for its temperture to drop perhaps. I noticed one of the last eggs was 1/2 eaten , and it was a fertile egg that just did not hatch. so sad, Mr Scully and i were just saying yesterday how well they were doing. RIP little dandelion head

Well heres an update, but the pics are a bit dull, and you are never gonna believe it, yet again some sad news at the end. They are really getting green, except baby. Baby has a little green bum, and wing tips, but is just a ball of grey fuff still. Baldy ..Ghandi...is not so bald now, yellow spikes growing out its head, and its a real greenish yellow in some places. Big Boy..well im guessing hes a boy, and his mate are really getting thier green feathers, but with quite a bit of yellow mix. and here's the sad news, The lutino has a bad toe. Where that ridge is along the toe, its quite a deep indent, but the end as you can see is a little swollen, and black.

That toe looks like it has the same thign Puku had...a bit of something caught round it, I say this because of the deep indent. Puku had hers amputated but don't worry about it she gets round fine without it she just uses her other foot to hold onto food and things, other than that she uses both feet normally to climb and walk etc.
What absolutely gorgeous pics Donna...its so lovely to see them growing up and getting their feathers, what beautiful birds!!! I especially love that first picture...which one is that? What a cute face s/he has!
