Sorry I've been away for so long - I'm in the middle of year 12 exams so everything's been pretty hectic! Having a lorikeet certainly does not make exam-time easier...my god he's like a toddler! He won't even let me study for 10 mins without wanting my attention. Something I've been wondering about for a while - why does Yogie get offended if I eat and don't offer him any. He gets really cross and even bites me! Do lorikeets share food in the wild? What makes me think that is Yoges doesn't simply want the food I pass to him, but actually eats a piece that I'm in the process of eating I've got to be very careful about what I eat in front of him, because I tend to eat a lot of garlic and chocolate (not together of course!)

All of my birds want to eat what I'm in the process of eating! My budgie once actually managed to feed me seed before I realised what she was doing. I very quickly spat it out.

So yuck but so cute. Today Yoges was out of his cage while we were eating dinner. He flew onto the corncob I was eating and, well, let's say I couldn't finish it. What a cheeky one. Then he sat there on the table eating my cob, I walked off for a bit, and while I was gone he took a dump on the table This morning he even tried to climb into my cereal bowl.

LOL! That's a reason mum's new hand raised Peachface is not allowed out at meal times - he has actually learnt to eat his dinner when we eat ours!

Lorikeets share everything so it's natural for him to want to share your food. LOL Could be he thinks of you as a mate and was expecting to be fed. Then again just refer to the parrot code - whats yours is theirs, what they can see is theirs etc LMAO
