hi all, remember my ill treated baby? well got up for work at six this morning and she was on bottom of cage barley able to stand. i got her to the emergency vet straight away and he has given her a couple of jabs but seems to think she will be better at home as it will be less stressful for her. basically its just wait and see, i think all the stress has just got on top of her. the vet didn't hold out much hope, but i,m not giving up on her. she loves red grapes so am going out this aft and buying her the best red grapes i can find. will keep you posted on any developments. Jo

why do people get away with treating birds like crap? pulled my neighbor before about the bird being ill and her response was that its just a bird!! oooooooww!! anyway she managed some water before with a little help from a dropper, and even had a bit of grape so everything still crossed. keep everyone posted x

hi all sorry i,v been off for a while BT have been messing my Internet up. good news my angel is ok! even the vet was shocked i,m sure he thought she was a goner. her wings have scabbed over but are still not fully healed, she,s an amazing character and a real fighter i,m so proud of her. oh and this bird business is addictive i,m picking a friend up for her on wednesday i think its a Rosella? its twice the size of her and the most amazing blue red coulor, its also hand tame and says a few words its costing me hundred an eighty, i just hope they get on!! will keep you posted an hopefully will get some picks of them both on soon. thankyou all for you,r get well wishes jo

Oh Peanut I'm so glad to hear your bird is recovering never underestimate the power of tender loving care. I hope she likes her new friend but if she is already stressed give them time to get to know each other before they share a cage if that is the intention. Congratulations though I'm so pleased and I completely agree with you about how lightly people treat birds, there is always so much fuss about cats and dogs who are well able of looking after themselves by and large but birds get a hard time and no one seems bothered it make my blood boil too Hope the grapes help her perk up and try other food soon too so she can get more strenghth back Hugs to you and your bird Billie
