Hi. We currently have 4 Rosellas in the same aviary. 1 of the cock birds is immature. The mature cock is showing interest in both of the mature hens. Can he mate with both hens, and will the immature take over feeding or caring for the other hen & offspring? As of now they all get on well. Has anybody had a cock bird mate with 2 hens before?

Rosella male's fight for the right to breed in breeding season. Breeding season starts in August so your young one might come of age sexually before then. You will need to remove the young male & I would remove a female as well so that they can bond. From what I've heard, rosella's mate for life.
