Snowflake is now at peace,
What a sad day, I have just come from the Vet's who were absolutely great.
Snowflake is what I named a little white budgie I had rescued from someone who didn't take real good care of their birds.
She was so badly covered with Scaly Mite she could not stand and would constantly be on her back.
I took her home and treated her and she responded well all the scale had been removed and she was able to perch something I suspect she hadn't been able to do for a long time, as she was always breeding constantly.
I noticed she was drinking copious amounts of water so that had me thinking kidney tumour and that is what she finally died of kidney failure.
The last two days of her life she was unable to walk, she just kept fluttering her wings and moving back wards much like a baby starting to crawl.
She was such a beautiful little bird and so bright she was still eating and drinking, but I didn't think it fair for her not to be able to live her life as a budgie should. Flying, perching and being normal.
I spent some quality time with her before she went to sleep knowing I did everything I possible could for her.
R I P Little SNOWFLAKE I LOVED YOU even though I only had you for a short time.
FLY FREE SNOWFLAKE

Dear Avril I'm so sorry for your loss, at least little Snowflake knew love when she came to live with you. God bless and care for Snowflake, may she fly free as she was meant to be. Love and hugs to you, my heart is with you. Billie

You did a wonderful thing Avril, no one could have done more than you did. At least she was able to perch before illness overcame her.
Fly free Snowflake.
