I went to the store today to get some oat groats, and now I have two new budgies! (Bet you didn't see that coming )They are still young, and I don't know if they are male or female. One is an albino, and the other is a beautiful violet with a yellow face. I always like violets, and the albino caught my eye because it looked very distinguished. Bad me....

lol are you talking about pets at home? cos they've been cutting down on their bird intakes for the last few months in preparation to stop supplying - bummer eh!

Yeah, I was talking about "Pets At Home". Shame about that as i've actually bought a good few birds from them in the past and have always found them to be healthy and long lived! Where do I go now....

You must be talking about enfield bird center in crews hill. I was there wednesday and they agreed to display some cards on the counter. Their kakariki's are normally in pretty good condition but occasionaly they have a few problems but not serious ones and a dose of ivermectin sorts that out which can be brought from Jollies just down the road.

They are settling in nicely. I'll take some pics as soon as I can find the camera, which has a nasty habit of disappearing. When I was at the store, my mom was looking at some of the parrots and was playing with a lorikeet when it bit her quite hard. I almost had to take it off her shoulder for her. I don't think the experience did much to convince her to let me have bigger birds. Maybe a tiel someday....

I saw the woman that works there which is probably best cause he's a right grumpy git at the best of times. I think he'd still moan if he won the pools, the lottery and got left a million from a relative in the same week.

I've bought several birds from that area....a pet shop on the corner of the cross-roads...small amount of birds but good condition. I've also popped into the parrot place further on into Cruise Hill, they have some gorgeous birds in there. Unfortunately I haven't got around to learning to drive yet so I can only go when my aunts in the mood to get some plants...probably best....otherwise my credit card would be maxed out!
