So I pop to the only place round here that does extra large sandpaper sheets (It was a pet related shopping trip so does that make it better? lol) for my darling little Kiwi and I'm drawn to bird section obviously..... only I make a bee-line for the birds and not the accessories. Naughty me!
I come to the first cage and there are about 10 Tiels in there but cowering in the corner there was a blue, what appeared to be an over-sized budgie. To cut a long story short I'm now the owner of what the garden centre reckon is a Blue Pennant Parakeet but I'm still looking into that as he doesn't look like all the pics I've seen of them on the net.
He doesnt have a name yet as I'm waiting for him to settle down and will name him to reflect his personality.
I've a feeling my bird family is just going to get bigger and bigger though lol
we have a big infection going round the forum Blaine..and i believe its airbourne.Transmission of MBS disease may occur through one or more of worldwide pathways including physical contact with infected individuals. These infecting agents may also be transmitted through contaminated cages, airborne inhalation, or through a forum-borne spread. The main birdieorganism often causes symptoms such as driving to petshops and deflammation of the purse. It can devaste family homes. Particuarly fluent in SE Queensland auz, but still not known of its true origin.
under the microscope it looks like this..
be careful Blaine, even today there is no know real cure
