Its been a while since i was in the confessional.... well... please sir, i have sinned... in my defense he is my anniversary present Meet Zippy.... For those that wouldnt remember, i used to be mum to a bearded dragon - Duke. We lost him 2 years ago to old age and he has been sorely missed but i couldnt get another dragon without comparing it to how Duke used to be. So... now we have room for him, jon bought me the Iguana ive wanted since i was a little girl In true "Sally" form lol he has a small fault, he lost his tail when he was young so half of it is in the middle of growing back and is black in colour (extremely normal) but can still whip pretty well!! He is a fiesty little fella, he's nearly a year old and about a foot long (not including tail). He wants to say hello but is a bit shy... "Look mum i can do tricks, now can i come out?" "Ooooh yeh thats the spot!" He loves his spines stroked

thank you the kids think he's great, but jamie cant quite understand why he doesnt want to sit on his shoulder for a fuss like duke used to lol i have tried to explain that he isnt used to us yet and one day he might get on his lap for a stroke - it fell on deaf ears #rolleyes# all i got in reply was "but he loves me mum, he told me he did!" kids eh #rolleyes# lol

I think he is absolutely stunning! I've always had a fascination with reptiles, but I've never had the courage (or space!) to get one that large.

He's absolutely adorable and I am so jealous! My mum loves to see the frilly's in our yard but is too scared of them to allow me to buy one. One day . . .

he is sweet he isnt that big yet, the photos are a bit deceiving but an adult can grow as large as 6ft (without tail), although the average is about 4-5ft. we have a dead space under the stairs where it is open plan, so when he gets bigger, jon going to build him a custom built 10ft house there. by the time he needs it that big, he will be able to spend most of the day out with me i will just have to re-arrange the rooms so he has a basking spot in each one i can understand your mum being scared of em karen, i cant wait till he learns im not gonna hurt him - cos its blooming painful when he freaks!! lol but he's already taking treats out my hand so hopefully wont be too long. he will come out without whipping or biting me if i let him use my arm as a branch and him walk out instead of me carrying him out, thats ok for now till he trusts me a bit more but damn is he quick still makes me jump and im expecting it lol Ellen, you would like him he got "attitude" lol Budgiebuddy, if you like lizards but dont want one that size, bearded dragons and geckos are great company too and only need half the amount of space
