Well, I went to a pet store looking for cockatiels. There's a bird/aquarium place near my house that hyand feeds a lot of their birds. I got to take out this one cockatiel. It jumped right on my hand, and then to my arm. My family got to pet it. It then jumped on my shoulder! It started trying to peck at my ear. It was so cute! I let it stand there for 5 minutes or so. It let me pet it, and pick it up. I was originally going to get my cockatiel in two weeks or so. I'm going to try and see if I can get that exact one.

You're so lucky to have hand reared bird in your pet shops over there, I don't know of any pet shops near me that sell them - mind you I'd be there every week buying something! They can sing so beautifully when they get going - you'll absolutely love your new tiel Blaine! ;D

Right now it's a maybe from my mom. She says she thinks having 2 birds in the house right now would be too much.
I've been looking for places to put Juniper all summer, when we think we found the reason he's been acting this way. He's fully flighted. Everybody I talked to said that that causes a personality change in birds because they know that they can get away and don't need you. I got his wings clipped Tuesday, and i've already seen a personality change! He's been a little calmer when I stick my hand in, and lets me get closer to him now.
A girl in my Sunday School class at church made a very amazing statement. The leader asked how God tells us what he wants us to do, and this girl said that if God wants you to do something, all of the doors will open and there will be nothing stopping you from doing it. If God doesn't want you to do it, a lot of road blocks will come up in your way. Still God lets you do whichever one, it just won't be the best option. I thought this statement seems like Juniper's situation. We tried almost every animal shelter/ bird sanctuary/ nursing home/ anything else that will gtake birds and they all either wanted sine ridiculously high fee, or they idn't take parakeets, or they were full. It seems like a bunch of road blocks have come up. Since Juniper has had a change in Personality, maybe I was supposed to stick with him for a while longer.
The only problem is persuading my mom that I can have 2 birds. ;D

I think there might be a such thing of taking a bird out too much also. Occasionally I would have Juniper out for too long and he'd start itching to get back in the cage and ignore me until I did.
The cockatiel at the pet store seemed keen to sit on my shoulder for a while. I herd from someone that cockatiels are one of the only birds that she will allow on her shoulder because other birds are attracted to shiny things, and her glasses and eyes are shiny.
