hi I am new here from Ont Canada. My real name is Lori am owned by 3 male cockatiels,2 male Canaries, 2 male budgies, 1 male Green cheek conure and soon to be a baby Senegal. At what age are the babies on once a day hand feeding? My new baby is 4 weeks old I am so excited to get the little one soon ! I love birds so much my place is gone to the birds. Anyone here have pics of their Senegals? are they bigger than tiels?

Hi Lori, Welcome to Bird Crazy. From what I understand about Senegals and Cockatiels, the tiels have a longer slender body (up to approx 33cm including tail) while the Senegals body (including tail) is up to about 10cm shorter in length but they have a stocky or plump body.
I'm not sure on when they finish handfeeding or down to one a day but if they are similar to other species' of that size, I'd imagining anywhere from 8-10 weeks for their once a day to final handfeeding.
Sounds like you definately have a bad case of MBS! hehe

Hello Lori....I am a new Senegal owner.....I posted some pics of my Senegal in the Bird Pictures section. He is about 9 months old so he is still getting his colors and his eyes will hopefully change to yellow in the coming months. He is a little bigger than a Tiel and has a short tail. Mine sure has big feet too! I hope you can post some pics soon...I would love to see your new Sengal.
