Since a few of you, (well alot lol) are from OS, thought you might like to see a few more of "our" birds here in Aust.
These Red Winged Parrots were taken on my parents place right next to their front patio. If I was a bit taller I could have touched them. They were very quiet and the tree they are eating from was hanging over my parents patio. So the birds were literally right there!! They came back every year until a vicious storm ripped out the tree.
Here they were again, a different year...
These were taken on a trip to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin) They were, I think, rescue birds that decided to stay
And these were out the backyard here, male redrumps, or grass parrots as they are called locally.....
That King Parrot is beautiful, and the lorries......what can I say. They are probably my fav bird of all (even though my dream bird is an African Grey). Although it IS hard to pic a favourite when there are so many birds to choose from lol.
oh tasha these photos are so beautiful! you make me wanna move!! my all time favorite bird is a hyacinth..the funny thing is I wouldnt be happy unlesss I was surrounded by birds & yes I am dying for a african grey & a RLK & a Kak & lol the list goes on & on & on & on..*Karen* you both are so lucky to see such beauty! if I go outside I have to watch out for the cardinals & other birds that eat grapes from my arbor lol they will splash poop all over ya lol they are so beautiful! thank you so much for sharing these they were a picker upper for me this morning!!
Aww, I love the kookaburras. They have such funny little faces! I'd love to live in Australia, and I really really really want to go to Australia Zoo and see the crocodiles. Steve Irwin was such a cool guy
We had some Australian visitors to my house a few days ago - they came to see my rabbits! So I guess I do have something here that I can't have there after all! LOL!
