Ummm, guys, I've done something very uncharacteristic of me. No, I don't mean I've randomly bought some more birds (hell, I do that ALL the time). What I mean is I've bought birds that I've previously said I hate... I have budgies!! Flipping budgies!! I figured this was just about crazy enough to earn itself a confession! ;D As the story goes, the day before yesterday I popped into the worlds dingiest pet shop with my sister and I stood and had a whistling competition with a cockatiel for ages. The next day, I decided I wanted it (damn pet shops always put these birds near the tills - impulse buys!!) and I went back today to get him. Only, they said he wasn't for sale singley as they couldn't get the birds out of their cage without having to shut all the shop up incase they got out. So they said I could have the cage (it's the same type that I bought for Pierre and Fifi if any of you have seen that thread!) three tiels and two budgies for £65. I figured I'd need to get the tiel a cage anyway so I thought, ehhhhh why not and duly parted with the last of this months wages. So here are my rather unexpected new additions - Whistly tiel - Whistly tiel's evil twin - Tiel number three - Yellow budgie - Grotty looking old budgie (nothing a bit of TLC and a good bath can't fix!) - Good effort huh?? I think my plan is to try and find all but the whistly one new homes as my dad will actually throttle me if he finds out I bought all them! Lol!

SUCKER!!!!! Oh George, what shall we do with you? you have such a serious case of MBS. I just love the older fella and the yellow Tiel Kaeci drives us nuts with his whistling Then you look over and see his little beak going, and how proud he is of his whistling, and hes so comical we have to laugh! what is it about Pet shops, i sometimes go into this little one, and i just want to rearrange everything and have a good clean. The birds they have are fine, and they seem a nice couple, but with the competition, they should smarten thier shop up.

:(the pet shops around here are the pits! the one I DID like! had a rumor going around that when they got tired of hanging onto the rabbits they would freeze them what makes me mad is no one had proof!!!! & so therefore wouldnt do anything about it! so I stopped going there all together, the very last time I went in there they had a screaming sun conure in there plucked naked jammed into a teenie tiny cage barely big enough for him to turn around, it was so sad... no matter how loud I screamed at the people & cussed them good they just looked at me like I was the psycho B!

Aww, thanks for all your nice comments guys!! LOL! Don't all start fighting over tiel no.3 cos I've fallen in love with him and he's staying here!! I found a new home for the yellow budgie already, Ellen, a work friend, took her home for her mum's birthday present! Her mum has a 12 year old budgie already and Ellen thought it was about time they got it a friend!! She has a little boy too and he was WELL excited about it. Hehe! So that's a happy ending for one at least. I think I might keep the blue one, I kind of feel I should as it's such an old grump like me! And I kind of like it (SHOCKING!!). Laurie - They were all in a cage together but it was a big cage. I have pictures, I gave it a good clean and put some decent new toys in and it looks quite nice now. I'd be quite happy to live in it if I was a bird! Scully - The pet shop is GROSS!! They used to be ok but they moved into the shop next door cos it was bigger but for some reason it seems even more cramped than before. The birds are mostly well looked after and the rodents are in pretty big tanks. The thing that gets me is that the rabbits and guineas are kept in bird cages I used to sell my baby finchs to them back when they were in the old shop but I've been trying to make a point of not using them anymore. I only came across this bunch cos my sister went in for dog biscuits. I guess that means it's all her fault I have MBS!! LOL! Cara - Yeah it was a bargain wasn't it!! ;D They were selling tiels singley for £25! The lady in the shop said she was surprised they'd been there so long! Karen - I wondered what type of budgie the yellow one was. Ellen asked and I didn't have a clue. I just siad "uhhh, yellow??!!" so now I can tell her it's a yellow lacewing (and she'll think I'm clever! ). Blue budgie has had a bath and still looks just as grotty Maybe she needs several baths!! Budgiebuddy - I think budgies are beautiful! I just think I'm a bit biased towards my finchys though and after my budgie/finchs experience I've always been a little wary of them. Plus my grandad never liked them and I guess I just inherited his dislike (he moaned about them something awful and then ended up buying 12 of them - must run in the family!!)! I can totally understand why people love them though. In the last two short days, I've quite enjoyed watching their daft antics. I think I'm converted!! Debra and Skyfeather - Thankyou very much! They are gorgeous! I absolutely adore them! (and special thanks to you skyfeather for saying my photo's are nice! I'll sit in the shed for ages trying to get a good shot - for every good one I get there are at least 10 cruddy ones!! LOL!).

The yellow tiel has started whistling too now! I'm not sure if he already knew how to or if he's just picked it up from my constant whistling at the original whistly tiel! They're so loud when they get going together, I'm so surprised dad hasn't realised yet ;D I guess the yellow one may have already known how to whistle as I'm sure I couldn't of taught him that in that short space of time could I?? Apparently none of them whistled when they turned up at the pet shop, they copied the shops african grey! So god only knows what else they might know, the grey is well known for having a potty mouth!! LOL!
Evil twin tiel has been named Lucifer by my friend Hannah. She actually wanted to call it.... Hannah (what a genius)... but I told her it was a boy and a bit evil so she wouldn't really want it named after her!! I think original whistly tiel might actually be semi-tame. If I poke my fingers through the bars he'll let me stroke his crest whereas the others run away if I try to touch them. I like Victor for the budgie but I think it's a girl. I guess she won't mind??!! And I was thinking of calling whistly and yellow Beebop and Rocksteady after the baddies in teenage mutant ninja turtles!! Hehe!
