Hehe! Yeah, I do that, I like to chat! Yeah, the really tiny pet shop in Shanklin! It's still really tiny! I don't agree with the way the place is run (one of my best friends worked there for a few years - she's told me absolute HORROR stories about that place!) but I just couldn't resist those birds! I'm such a sucker!! I hate Sandown Zoo! Unfortunately it's still open. I can see into it from my house actually. We have a telescope as we have a view of the whole of Sandown Bay and occasionally I spy in the zoo and the poor tigers just sit there with their heads in their paws. They've supposed to have renovated it and built some bigger enclosures but they're still incredibly cramped. And whats worse is that the tigers in the little pens have to share but they can't be let out together so half of their tigers are shut up in sheds on alternate days Makes me so sad! There is a TV program on ITV called Tiger Island - that's filmed there. It looks nice on TV - good editing I guess The place with the parrot's is Seaview Wildlife Encounter in.... errrr.... Seaview funnily enough! LOL! It used to be called Flamingo park. I love it there! Have you seen my thread about the cool Tauraco they have in their tropical house? I think it's in the "other birds" section. I shall look forward to your grocery buying! Hehe!! ;D

OMG My outlaws used to own that pet shop years ago, it was lovely when they had it, they are real animal lovers It's sad to hear it's gone downhill As for the zoo, it was the sight of a poor tiger in a tiny cage pacing up and down, up and down that upset me They should close him down! It's SO cruel We took our kids to Flamingo Park years ago, our daughter was only two at the time. She went into the toilets not knowing that they kept a crane in there in the winter. When she came out of the cubicle there was this wacking great big bird staring at her Took us ages to get her out! Was scarey for her at the time but SO funny now

Hahaha!! How funny! I can't say I've ever bumped into a crane when I've been in there! LOL! The original guy who owned the zoo died a few years ago and his daughter (I think it's his daughter!) has taken over and she has built new enclosures and stuff but it's still not really worth going. Oh, I've just thought, there are two pet shops in Shanklin - there's a nice on on Regent Street (the road with the main shops on. They don't sell any livestock though) and there's the one I went in which is quite a way up towards the old village??!! It's not great now by any stretch of the imagination It was ok until they moved to the shop nextdoor. The guy who owns it just seems to cram as much in as he can now.

It's not near the co-op! I'm just trying to think if the co-ops moved!! LOL! Your outlaws (i love that! hehe!) don't still own it do they? I'm a bit paranoid I've been slagging them off now! That would be a typical George thing to do! It's called Wings and Tails if that helps? That tauraco is my faveourite bird in the whole world! I'm dragging my mate Ben to flamingo park tomorrow so I'll try and get some more pictures. And if you should happen to pop into morrisons, do come and say hi! I work most evenings!
