Now I have another question about my Senegal's behavior. From great advice from you guys I understand how he can view my left or right shoulder as "his" by biting if I put him on the wrong side. Now he often tries to bite when I have him step-up onto my left hand rather than my usual right hand. Is this the same kind of behavior he is showing.....preferring my right hand to my left? Thanks for any help!

Yeah I think it's the same thing really, I'm more 'cack handed' with my left hand and much more confident using my right (being right handed) Birds get comfortable with what you're comfortable with, and it may only be subconciously, but if you're using your left hand you may be sending him less confident signals, if that makes sense? They pick up the SMALLEST things these intelligent little birds

I have to say that I don't know what the answer to this is. My ekkie is pretty strange. She steps up with her right foot at all times. But sometimes she will only accept the right hand and other times she'll only except the left. If she doesn't step up when we ask her to, we'll try the other hand and usually she'll step up just fine. Don't know why she does that but she does. It just depends on her mood as to which hand she'll accept.
