Can anyone help me with info on the weights for the age of a IRN chick? I have tried searching the net but must not be looking in the right spots lol I am after something along the lines of.....day old chick "x" weight....day 4 chick "x" weight etc. Just trying to figure out if the little one I am raising is a bit small for his age or not. I can't tell as I have not looked after one so young before I have nothing to compare with. Thanks in advance guys

Tasha I can't find any weights documented by anyone of their IRN chicks growing up either. Only clue that keeps popping up is that the chick should at least maintain or put on weight every other day. You're aiming for around 115gms when fully grown. Sorry I can't be of more help, maybe he's just got a bit of catching up to do like Dink did

tasha I have had to pull chicks at day old & its just kind of a hit & miss, you generally always feed the smaller ones more often, making sure the crop doesnt empty entirely, Almost but not quite..so long as they fill out at a good rate & you document their gains regularly, there by showing a actual wt gain..then you know all is developing on que, eventually it should catch up, my green cheeks do & so do the rosies...my parrotlets & lovies even being FAR far behind some of there larger nest mates..always eventually catch up to a comparible size, they dont stay small long..i just try & maintain a 45-50% humidity level in the brooder.. this site doesnt show what your wanting but it does explain how to achieve proper wt gains in your chicks..I just thought I would post it incase its useful for you www.cagenbird.com/a011.htm
