Chestnut was a dear little chestnut flank zebra finch given to me by my brother. Chestnut was at the very least 10 years old. He outlived all his little finch buddies and was king of the aviary. About a week ago I brought him inside because he was looking sickly, so he had a "special needs" cage in my bedroom. He'd say good night to me and wake me up in the morning, and we'd "beep" back and forth. One week, and I fell in love with him. I know he lived a good long life, and he wasn't "tame" really, but I miss him very much. I didn't realize how much I would miss hearing his little chirps. RIP little guy...
