Hello everyone, im getting my sisters chinchilla from her because i dont like the way its being kept there so do you all think that itll be ok to keep the chinchilla in the same room as the budgies, when its night time ill be closing the door to the cupboard which his cage will be kept in but during the day hell be out with me and the budgies, should they get along or will he go for the birds? All help much appreciated, and when hes here ill have photos up asap

There's never really any guarantee with species mixing... my gut feeling is keep them apart as much a possible for both of their sakes. Then again, some people have rabbits and the like that hang out with their birds, so I really don't know. If they are together, keep a close eye out. Hope it all works out well! Chinchillas are such funny little fluffballs... my brother had one once that was a rescue. We nicknamed it the Vampire Squirrel-Bunny because chinchillas look like a squirrel/rabbit mix and because they're nocturnal.

Well Matrix arrived last night and hes settled in almost instantly hes sat watching me type now and the birds seem fine with him, he sits and watches them from his cage and he is such a funny thing to watch, especially having a sand bath.
