How do you tell Marmaduke & Garfield apart? Your water looks absolutely pristine.

How do you tell Marmaduke & Garfield apart? Your water looks absolutely pristine. Marmaduke has longer tail finnage and has white on him...Garfield is prettywell totally gold The water looks good there as i've just done a big water change....it has bad tannin discolouration at present ( new piece of wood thats still aging)

Thank you....i prefer natural looking tanks...i find them more calming to look at. Not that i'm against the colourful type (had a few myself over the years)
If i move to a new place with a concrete floor (can't have one here as it would go through the wood floor *L*), i'll be looking at getting a 5ftx2ftx2ft or a 6ftx2ftx2ft...i Soooooooo can't wait....i just love setting them up...the possibilities are endless!

I went to do a water change in the goldie tank today...they arent happy as the tannins are softening the water on them...so anyway i'm cleaning some gravel with the vacuum and thinking to myself...gee this seems pretty dirty for only around a week since a full pull down...check the filter..geeezzz...it isnt working...i pull it out thinking maybe a snail got in it and jammed it (happened last time) But nope, a part has broken and being as old as it is i can't get parts
So now i got a nice new internal filter...holy moly its powerful *L* (had to turn it way down or the poor goldies woulda been churned around the tank..i may have to turn it back more...but i'll see how they fare)...so i think the old one had been battling for a while...the new one is smaller in overall size too which is great as it gives me more room to landscape the tank.
The only thing is the new one has no place to put charcoal....so i'll have add in another smaller one next week that takes charcoal.
Hoping to order my bristlenose catfish next week also...they will be on special order as i want larger ones
