Here's what has been going on with me lately: there is happy news and sad news. Sad news is that I rehomed my budgies. The good news has to do with why I rehomed the budgies. You probably noticed me dropping hints about getting a new bird... I'm not good at being subtle. One of these little babies will be living with me! In case you couldn't tell, these are yellow sided GCCs! I will be getting a little boy. I rehomed my budgies for the safety of the new baby... here in the US, %70 of budgies carry the avian polyoma virus, which can be deadly. Even with testing, all you can be sure of is that the suspected carrier is not shedding the disease, so I didn't want to risk them transferring something to another bird. They are all living close by with an experienced owner who just wants them to watch, so they should be happy, and my baby will be safe. I miss them, they are well taken care of, and this way I will have more time to spend with the cheeky! I don't know which baby is mine yet, as they are still doing DNA testing and all, but depending on which one I get, it should be ready to come home in the middle of this month or early April. I can't wait! Thank you Scully for all your advice and for listening to me as I rambled on about random worries and excitements! And of course... I will post updates as I get them. ;D

I don't know if I could handle more than one... sometimes I can't wait for the baby to come home, and others, I'm nervous that I'll mess it up somehow!

They're growing up so fast! The oldest three flew for the first time yesterday!

Mixed emotions when they first learn to fly.
Happy that they are growing up but worrying when they crash land for the first few days.

Had a nice trip to the bird shop today... picked out a bunch of supplies, played with a baby senegal! I've got a good vet picked out (thanks to recommendations from a personal friend and a local bird rescue!) and I have a lot of extra newspaper...lol
