And here we are in the month of March! Let's start with something different for this newsletter! I did some research and found several Bird Holidays for March and thought I'd let you all know so that you are prepared to celebrate!
Buzzard Day (8th)
Swallows Return Day (19th , the traditional return of swallows to San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA)
Also on the 19th, Poultry Day
From Sesame Street, Big Bird's Birthday (20th)
Make Up Your Own Holiday Day (26th, I’m thinking perhaps "Be Bird Crazy Day"!)
Just a hint… don't tell your Fids about the holidays unless you've got some presents ready!
Welcome to the new members who joined during February: bawra, birdlovinfool, budgieliz, executioner, isma945, kworel, mdvaden, new2tiels, parrotluver, ronodevilas, securitylog, smith4ya, stargazer, stircrazy, Tahoma, Valerie, vijaypande, zebrafinch.
Happy Birthday to the February Bunch: Menice, debs, daz, chellxx, recoveringnutcase, debsmadcat111, kazwatts, rah, slipperyparrot, carmz, mbdavies00, mugwump71, smkbs8, bethxx, bud34953, Karen, birdlover, satanslittlehelper, mikee, wolfmoon, birdie2008, tazkal, sandy88, nerwen, aiyana53, mrsvw, kmkkrow, petitez, vicksahi, and andruec.
In the Budgie Section, Debra posted a very fun video of a bunch of "trick" budgies and the nice man they own!
Apparently nobody had anything to confess this month except me. (Ok, so I confessed March 1st, but whatever!) I feel soooo guilty… okay, maybe not! But I'm very excited to be getting my green cheek conure, and I may be needing help with a name!
The Lovvey Dovvey Competition is now closed, but the poll is still open for voting. It probably won't be for long, so if you haven't seen the competition yet, be sure to pop on over to the Competitions in the Member's Area and pick your favorite picture!
Sal has been up to a lot of work around the site lately, getting our New Year updates! If you see something new and have any comments, questions, or suggestions, let the staff know. Remember, we're here to help.
A new game has been added: "Have You Ever Wondered Why?" Here's your chance to understand life's great questions! Ok, so maybe not. But you can find out why you never see a Zebra on a Zebra Crossing.
Have you ever seen a chicken wearing a jumper? I have! The latest article in the Animals News Section (in the Guest Nest) will tell you all about it. 1,500 hens were given new homes and wardrobes…a rescue worthy of notice. Thank you for passing the news on, Kate! (aka bullibirdshow)
Just a reminder: if you are new to the site or haven't done this yet, don't forget our Guestmap! At the top of the main page, right next to the Top Bird Sites voting buttons, there is the Guestmap button. Click on it to see where some of the other members are located and to put in a "pin" on the map where you live!
That is it for this newsletter. I'm looking forward to seeing you all on the boards; have a great month!
