Hi, haven't contributed lately but still read posts. My lovely budgie Lady Lou Lou Willow died, quite a while ago, yes distraught cause she didn't deserve that, she was a cheeky wee beauty, she lived with Acorn, who I've asked and gotten advice from you guys, so now he's been on his own and he hasn't wanted to come out of cage.
But recently I decided to bring him upstairs to live in my (large) bedroom cause I made it self contained (share house with 80 yearold Mum!!) Now coming to what i wanted to tell you, one day I had made some rice and was eating it and offered it to Acorn and he took it from my fingers, Bear in mind I haven't touched him for a shockingly 8 years, so I was happier and more touched than I could be, and now I've found what he likes, cooked ham (I know not healthy) white fish, boiled egg. So now finally I get the fascination of these wonderful birds. His cage is opened every day, he can have a shower every day if he wants. Last thing, when he had taken that feed, and was out, he had his first flight in the new space, which was smaller than the lounge, I just didn't want to watch so lent back on my bed and he landed on my pillow and walked down onto my tummy and spent about 10 minutes walking up and down my tummy and hands, wow what a wonderful feeling, I feel I have really connected with him and hope to continue to give him all he needs,
thanks for all your advice
