Hi All Well I don't know what has gotten into the Blur Team but War seems to have been declaired. They seem to have woken up seriously 'in the mood' you have never seen three birds soo close together the one in the middle either fighting or kissing his neighbours! This has gone on all morning, as soon as someone starts kissing someone the other bird starts a fight. Minty and Harry seem to be fighting over Tiny! Tiny will kiss either of them and normally this hasn't caused issue. I cold shower had no effect. They are still then I've just got Harry out to tire him out a bit! Harry is on the roof of the cage and Tiny has had a good few bites of his feet! What a to do! Hugs Billie

cold shower! Maybe it's time to even the playing field? Y'know what they say - two's company, three's a crowd. Four would give everyone a partner to kiss - unless they all want the new one as a friend!

Well getting Harry out helped, he was too tired to mix things up when he got back in. Hostilities continued today but to a lesser extent I really don't want to do any feathered shopping! I get very stuffy nosed as it is and keep coughing don't want to bring more birds in! It got silly with 5 of them and couldn't face it if we got another and there were fights! Anyone else got odd numbers of birds that things have worked out for? Am I really doomed to major punch ups unless they are four! Things had been peaceful, there were constant squables when Sky was here as they competed with each other for her. Hugs Billie

I guess its too hot to fight today? After a tussle round first thing they are all to hot to bother and are babbling and dozing quietly.
I guess I should be please they are rushing around again, they have been so quiet and miserable looking since we lost Sky. Maybe there isn't malace in the punch ups, just being boisterous boys???

boy will be boys, so maybe you just hit the nail on the head? Ive had "3" birds in a cage before and they got along fine. There was the odd scrap when the weather was hot or when one of them decided they needed to come out for a fly and would take frustrations out on another. But ive found that with keeping multiple birds in general, not necessarily odd numbered ones ;D

Hi All
Well they aren't tooo bad. They seem to be chatting each other up and have no 3 loitering right next to them, but no blood shed. They do this very quiet bubbling sound like they are swearing at the situation.
Can't get a photo, when I put the camera up they seperate! DOH
Hope they sort things out peacefully. It seems to be first thing in the morning and around food.
Not so much viscious fights now. Just quiet swearing!
Hugs

Harry must have thought it was his birthday today! Tiny spent AGES preening Harry's face! Harry was blissful, he had that silly 'ahhhhh' look on his face. Poor Minty wasn't impressed, he sat on the swing plaintively calling poor little Minty Hugs Billie

Hi All Well Tiny seems to be with Harry Poor little Minty, he gets shoved asside by both of them Tiny keeps following Harry around. Minty keeps following Tiny around but doesn't get a look in. Whenever Minty tries to chat up Tiny, Harry just flies between them so Minty gets shoved asside Harry keeps looking very pleased with himself. Tiny has a few times snuggled up to Minty, but Harry gets boisterous. Poor Miny, I'm worried about him constantly trying to feed things. He has done this ever since Sky died. He goes to the seed pot, picks up a single seed and rolls it around in his beak, flying from swing to tree trying to feed the swing or tree. Its soo sad to see. If he's been doing this since June do you think he'll stop soon, or is it a habit to worry about. I guess he must eat sometimes or he would have starved by now. He's quite timid, poor little Minty. Any thoughts? Billie

Aw, poor lonely Minty! I don't think his habit would be dangerous health wise, or if it was you'd see more serious effects by now, but I'd try to keep an eye on his weight, etc. If it was me I'd try to get him a pal. I really can't of think of anything else to do... I always tried to keep an even number with my budgies because otherwise somebody always ended up depressed in a corner. Good luck with them!

Well after letting Harry feed him yesterday Tiny was sick last night. (he does that quite often though) He's still buddy buddy with Harry but not quite so much now Its a bit of a dilema, if we get a girl budgie they might all compete for her and she'd be constantly persued If I get a boy the singing competitions will get even louder and DH isn't happy with the decibels this lot produce as it is. They are in a big cage indoors and they chatter so loud it makes your ears ring. I love my birds and hate to see one sad.. but I love my man too! Billie

LOL Harry is a piece of work isnt he! I wonder if he's worked out that he can get twice the attention if he's nice to both of them? hehe.
It may be an "uneasy" peace in the cage but id make the most of it while its there ;D
