thought I would share this with you as usual I do my morning rounds of the aviaries while giving out greens, as I feed my scarlet chested I notice one dead breeder cock on the aviary floor well what the #### do I do now ...as I know the hen is sitting on fertile eggs do I place the eggs under another pr, or place the eggs in the incubator not liking neither of these ideas I checked out some spare cock birds I held in another aviary mm he looks good I caught up a 2 year old cock bird and with a quick examination he was placed in the aviary with the hen that had lost her mate ...later that day the hen was out feeding and done what any good hen would do she went back to nest... the cock has taken on fatherly duties and with any luck the eggs should hatch soon ;D

Sorry to hear you lost a bird, but glad things seem to be working out. Let us know how things go with the eggs!
