If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated - we built a new house and moved 5 months ago and our four birds have died off in succession, the last canary passing today (2 lovebirds and 2 canaries). My husband feels like it is VOC's in the house because it is new, although we have installed a system for exchanging air in the house with fresh air from outside, an ERV system I believe it is called. I am concerned that it could be some sort of bird disease that slowly spread through them. When the 2nd bird passed, the lovebird's beak had grown very long before it passed. The last canary that just passed today's claws had grown very long but had also stopped opening one eye to the point that my husband thought the bird had somehow poked it on something and essentially poked its eye out - this was not the case though because he would occasionally open it and it was in fact still there. I have wrapped/sealed the bird up and frozen it but am wondering if there is somewhere I can send the bird for testing to see if it had a known disease or what is the next step? I'm just trying to rule out disease as a possible cause and see what we might be able to do as my husband loves birds.
