Hi all,
I am new to birdies, I got my first just about a month ago! She is a little red fronted pied kakariki who I got from Jon and Sal (she is in Sals 'watch babies growing up'). Her name is Puku - pronounced like cuckoo (as in clock) only with a P of course- it is a Maori word meaning 'tummy'...coz in the first picture I saw of her she looked all squat and chubby!! I love having her, she is soooo entertaining and is into absolutely everything, she even tells my dogs off if they get too close (even though they are very good with her)!! She is a lonesome bird at the moment but I am planning on getting one of Scullys babies to keep her company in her huge indoor cage...maybe in a seperate one...don't know yet (see Q in breeding chat) because I don't want to breed but want a male for her. Anyway.... Hello : )

Hi Orange! Glad of more Kakariki lovers! If you get a male, the only way to prevent them from breeding is to never let them out together.
