Hello
My names paul from kent. Don't have any birds at the moment however i have had quite a few in the past.
I Built my first aviary 19 years ago it was about 12ft x 6ft fixed on to a 6ft x 3ft shed. This had canaries, finches, a cocuple of cockatiels, and budgies, quails, a golden pheashant.
Then the pet shop said you can't mix canaries and finches with budgies. But i never had a problem with mine.
Anyway when my father seen my avairy he wanted one and also my father in law and my wife's grandfather.
So ended up building 3 more aviaries.
We moved house 10 years ago and we had to get rid of our aviary so sold a lot of birds to a local pet store and the rest gave away to my family.
Now i have decided i now want another aviary. Not sure what to have yet but i do like canaries so with probably build an aviary and fill it with differant types of canaries.
But that will not be until about april as we are currently paving our garden over due to dog tearing up the lawn.
But at least i will have something to put my aviary on.
I know how i want to build this one and once i start it won't take me long to get it done.
Paul

Hi Paul and Welcome! I loved it when I restarted the hobby, I think I got my first aviary (prefab) erected within a day due to my excitement about getting birds into it. I look forward to seeing your progress with the construction and with seeing the varieties of canaries you'll house in it. Alexandra on this site also keeps canaries & they are a joy to see.
