If you own a ringneck and live in the State of New Jersey, we can get you help with a special permit.
Todd Marcus, of Todd Marcus Birds Exotic, has been charged with selling illegal ringnecks to residents of the State of New Jersey. The birds were sold to customers as "Australian Parakeets". Under the Laws of the State of New Jersey, one found to be in possession of these birds in the State of New Jersey faces confiscation and possible euthanization.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU
Because the owners of these birds which were sold by Todd Marcus Birds Exotic were misinformed, the State of New Jersey Division of Fish & Wildlife has agreed to issue a special permit. PLEASE KNOW THIS IS NOT A SCAM. [See news article above, which confirms that special permits have already been granted to the eight birds identified to date]. All residents of the State of New Jersey who purchased a ringneck from Todd Marcus Birds Exotic are likewise eligible for these special permits (see provisions below). I personally have agreed to assist the State in seeking out the other 10+ Ringnecks which have not yet been identified.
YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO AVOID SEEKING THE CARE OF AN AVIAN VET
If you purchased a Ringneck from this establishment, you can contact the NJ Fish & Wildlife Law Enforcement Division at 609-259-2120 or Linda Buono of the NJ Fish & Wildlife Permits Division at 908-735-5450 to confirm that you will receive a special permit. However, there are stipulations, and they are as follows:
1. The bird must have been purchased at Todd Marcus Birds Exotic.
2. You will need to identify the band letters and numbers, as all birds originated from the same breeder.
3. You must agree not to breed or rehome these birds.
If you still feel uncomfortable, and wish to make the call totally anonymous, you can block your number by dialing *67 prior to dialing either agency.
Anyone on this board who knows me can vouch for my sincerity. I reiterate, PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT A SCAM. I want to get you help.
Below are actual pictures of some of the birds (albeit several months prior to your purchase). After about 18 months, they would have developed a "ring" or "band" around their neck if (darker if they are a male) and somewhat of a moustache on either side of their upper mandible. There are many pictures of mature ringnecks posted on this forum. If you own one in the State of New Jersey, it is illegal.
In addition to the Ringnecks, there are two Quakers who are also being granted immunity. The same stipulations apply, as noted above.
Feel free to PM me or email me (address below) if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Kathie
