I've been browseing around on some Budge forums, like ya do! ;)and all young Budges seem to have short wings, like the long feathers at the end are not there. When they learn to fly, is it when the long feathers grow? or can they fly with the shorter stubby wings? Some just look old enough to fly like it

they have possibly have had their wings clipped so they can only fly low or short distances. It is something I wouldn't do or recommend because if you cut the flight feathers too short they have a tendenacy not to grow back.

Avril, i think you may be right. I have been looking at how Karens babies are doing this morning, and they have the end feathers. I must be a real dummy! but i must have seen an awful lot of clipped young budgies while i was browsing around.

my 2 young newbies are both clipped. for some reason, petco clips, but pets mart & my local bird shop dont. i hate it, they have to wait even longer than the regular quarantine time to go to the aviary!
