I was sat with my budgie today and she was chatting and watching me so closely and than she started edging towards me so i started edging towards her and i put my hair to the cage and i could feel her chewing my hair.
is this a good sign?

Hi Mattaismouse
Yes absolutly this is a good sign, the best thing you can do to get a bird used to you is to spend time with them. Don't stare at them in silence as this would be frightening, just talk quietly and sit near them. I know our neighbour read the paper to our lot while we were on holiday and we leave the radio on if we go out for any length of time so it isn't silent if we aren't around.
Sitting near the cage and talking to her will help her get used to you being close to her, and that you being near isn't a threat and if you keep this going for a while next step is offering fave treat through the bars. The trick is to help her to learn that you bring nice things and aren't dangerous. Build the trust slowly and don't give her reason to be afraid of you. Top tip move slowly around the cage, sudden appearance would scare the life out of her.
Well done this is a big step forwards, just make sure you don't have product on your hair as this may contain chemicals toxic to her.

That is great news! I love it when birds play with my hair - except when they get a beakful & tug!

I can't tell from the pictures but the bird is a pied. Males will have a pink/purplish cere & females will have a beige/brown cere.
