Hey everyone, as you probably have noticed, I haven't posted any pics in a LONG time. There are two main reasons, first, I've been busy, but secondly, I'm rather embarrased to. As of right now, my flock has been going through a lot of trouble with mites and other health issues. I'm currently doing my best to better the situation, but it is rough. I didn't want to post pictures of the budgies looking so scraggly because I'm really not neglecting them, and it makes me sad when I see them like this. So anyway... that's why there's no pics or funny stories. Just wanted to get that out.

Liz you should see Graham, hes so tatty, and i feel so awful that he looks like that. I cant do alot about it, he spends most his life climbing, and its affected his feathering. I cant even tidy him up, as he needs all the feathers hes got for landings. Hes a bit of a kamakaze bird, and will drop off all heights, and does crazy flaps to soften the fall. How hes never broken anything i just dont know. I rarely post pics of him these days, as i feel so bad too. Thing is, to take him to the vets and have him end his life, well hes far too happy for that, especially with his new little hen friend, so i let him carry on. Maybe, i should'nt let him live like that, but i just dont have the heart to do anything else when hes so chirpy.
and thats 1 budgie, so im so sorry to hear your feelings about all of yours, i really felt for you when i read this post. I hope things get better for you, and your birds.

Awwww bless you, it's the same at my end - Kiwi looks soooo tatty at the moment. She never stops and her tail feathers look all broken and scragged, put that together with she's just laid 8 eggs and you can imagine how scruffy and unkempt she looks.
Hugs to you all - it's out of our control sometimes x

Haha! You should see Boris! She has no tail, heaps of pins and patchy feathers everywhere! Poor girl - she doesn't want her picture taken at the moment - she's too embarrassed.

It never ceases to amaze me just how they can find ways to get dirty. I scrubbed everything down, swept the floor, fresh seed and all and gave them showers. 1 hour later, they decided to pick up a new hobby... digging.
