why do people get away with treating birds like crap? pulled my neighbor before about the bird being ill and her response was that its just a bird!! oooooooww!! anyway she managed some water before with a little help from a dropper, and even had a bit of grape so everything still crossed. keep everyone posted x

hi all, remember my ill treated baby? well got up for work at six this morning and she was on bottom of cage barley able to stand. i got her to the emergency vet straight away and he has given her a couple of jabs but seems to think she will be better at home as it will be less stressful for her. basically its just wait and see, i think all the stress has just got on top of her. the vet didn't hold out much hope, but i,m not giving up on her. she loves red grapes so am going out this aft and buying her the best red grapes i can find. will keep you posted on any developments. hi again, still not sure what it is, my neihbour swears its a parakeet, must admit it is the same size shape ect.. its bigger than a cockateil bright yellow with a red beak, but not as big as an african grey parrot, maybe in between that and a cockateil. will put a pic up in a few weeks when she,s more settled. dont want the flash to scare her she,s been through enough. i will let you know after she has seen the vet on wed. either way i,v tottally fallen in love with her and hopefully between me and the vet we can get her sorted, and give her the life she deserves.

8-)hi guys, i,m new but furious and need advice. my neihbour recently aquired a yellow parakeet, gorgeous bird looks like an enormous canary!! she had said bird roughly two and half weeks, all i heard was her shouting at the bird to f*****g shut up. when i asked how she was going with it she told me i could buy it off her for hundred pounds or she was going to let it go. bought the bird in a budgie cage wich was obviously way to small, went out next day and spent nearly three hundred on a parrot cage toys food ect.. the bird was so scared evry time i went near its cage it screamed, it never bit me but made a major fuss flapping its wings and making noise. after acouple of days i could gently put my hands in cage to feed ect so long as i was slow and diddent alarm her. its just that i,v now noticed it looks like someone has tried clipping her wings, i,v had hold of her and so long as she has a cover over her head she will let me look at the wounds, and they are awfull!! whoever has done it has made a real mess it must be so sore and painfull, they are both bad but the left more than the right bleeding if she knocks them and also when she preens. i have her in a specialist vets on wednesday but just woundering if there is anything i should do in the meantime? i live in a city and parakeets are classed as exotic pets so vets are few and far between. she does seem more settled in the three days i,v had her but to see her in pain is hard what should i do? gratefull for any advice jo

hi all i have a indian ringneck and am getting a rosella on wed (cant wait). just woundering how big should their cage be? i am buying a parrot cage with my new bird on wed they are being deliverd together, the shop say its big enough for an african grey, but i know my rosella likes to spread his wings. if i could i would not have them caged and let them fly free but as we know this is not feesable. will my new cage be big enough for the both of them? also giving them the space they need? jo
