I've seen them around $1500. I used to work with a few of them and I was smitten the first time I ever held one. I can't get enough. I have to start my Caique savings plan, lol. It will be at least several more years before we even have the space for one.

My Green Cheek Conure ATTACKS my cat. In order for an animal to live in this house, they all need to be able to out at the same time. Rosco and CAT are never left together unattended, nor do I allow them to interact without me holding one or the other. CAT won't go to close to Rosco and if Rosco feels uncomfortable, he charges CAT.
It's all about the individual animals. I have mellow dogs and a kitten. If I raise CAT now to be around Rosco, then I don't see a problem. The dogs are gentle and I trust them completely.

I love Billy! Lories are an addiction of mine. Probably won't ever own one, but I will dream!

Thanks, guys. I can't get enough of them!
Next time he does it, I'll have to get a pic... Rosco makes a nest out of Faithey's hair and sometimes falls asleep right there. She doesn't mind one bit.

This is what CAT did last night, lol. Jake and I crashed on the couches because the upstairs bedroom was too hot to sleep. The kitten took the roll of paper towels off the counter, ran through the tiny slit in the gate we have up with it, so it all unrolled and THIS is what we woke up too. Poor Faithey, didn't have much room to lay down.

LOL, my husband named him CAT, because as he said "he's a yeller (I hate when he says yeller, so he does it to make me mad I think) one, like a CAT engine. We'll call him CAT." And that was the end of it, lol. I need to upload the pic of what CAT did while we were sleeping. Bad, Bad, kitty, lol.

This is CAT. We got him two weeks ago. He's a nut, lol. Dixie and CAT rough house all day if I let them. The other two aren't overly interested in him. Rosco attacks him if I let him. I was so nervous about introducing them and worrying about keeping Rosco safe. Once I finally gave it a try, Rosco beat poor CAT up. All the preparations and safety plans I made went out the window. CAT won't go near Rosco now! That's all I wanted. I just wanted him to learn that Rosco outranked him and he was not allowed to touch him and I never even had to do anything to get to that point. Anyway, here he is.

LOL, as the title says, here are the little demons. Dakota, not an RC, lol. She's our little rescue Shepherd. She's almost 4yrs old, 90lbs and as gentle as can be. She's such a great dog. Here's Dixie, my little 16 month old pup. She's have a very rough life thus far. She was only 8 weeks when she developed a severe case of Demodex mites. She wasn't cured until about a year old. I got her at six months through a private adoption. I call her mommy's little sidekick. And here's my Faithey girl. She's my absolute pride and joy. I'd do anything for this dog. She's about as perfect as anything can ever be. She's going to be 5 years in a couple months, I can't believe it! Look at that nose!

I was at work today (I am a dog trainer at a pet store) and I was playing with a sun conure that is there right now and she ate her own poop. I've heard of this and dealt with this many times as a DOG trainer, but never heard of it with birds. Is it normal? I've never known Rosco to do it.

Anyone here have a Caique?
I love my little green cheek, but I guess you could say that Caiques are my "dream bird" and someday, I will have one. Just need to come up with the money, lol. They sure are expensive little guys.

Is breeding, selling and owning hybrids illegal? About two years ago, I was walking through a pet store and saw a Catalina Macaw. I had never heard of them so I began a bit of research. Seems they have a bit of a following for a hybrid. I won't argue for breeding or selling, but I sure hope there is a grandfather law for people who already owned them if that is a true law. I can't imagine having to put my pet down (hybrid or not) just because of what he was.
