Wow, thanks! That's a ton of great advice. Now I just have to convince my husband that it might work. Rosco is just so mean to him that he won't even go near him anymore. They used to be best buds for a while. He'd take Rosco out and play with him when I wasn't even home. Rosco is about 7 months, I believe. His birthday is Christmas Eve. So, I know we're getting into that "teenage" stage now, too.

Rosco is a nice, sweet, loving bird. But only to me. Anyone that is not me, tries to come near me, or is another species gets attacked. That's one of the reasons I came here. I can do anything with him. No one else can get anywhere near him.

He's such a goof and these next few just show how goofy he is. Oooh, gotta strech. That feels good. Are you talking to me? Uh, mom... this is weird!

Hmm... This isn't in my cage, but it is my bowl... is this safe? Totally worth the risk. This is his cage. I'd like to get a bigger one, but this is all we could afford at the time. He's rarely in it, anyway.

LOL, ask and you shall recieve!
It's hard to find a decent background to take good pics of him. He's not great at taking pics, either, I am just insanely persistant with my camera. He doesn't have much of a chance. The outdoor pics were good because I had that branch for him to perch on. If I try to put him on a flat surface he just attacks the camera, lol.

Okay, I think I finally found it!!! It looks pure white to me, but I have to check in better light in the morning. The lighting in my house is not so great.
I hope Rosco is a boy seeing as that was what I had been hoping for.

Green Cheeks can be sexed by looking at the small bunch of feathers at the preen gland. If they are pure white you have a boy, if they are gray/white then it's a girl. Is that true in the fancy colored varieties, too? I'm trying to figure this out, lol, and not having luck. Does anyone have a picture?

Hello,
My name is Roxy and I have a 7 1/2 month old Green Cheek Conure named Rosco. I also have 2 Rough Collies, a German Shepherd and three cats. It's a full house, but we love it.
I started out with Rosco about three weeks before he was weaned and we've been stuck together ever since, lol.
I'm here mostly to learn and find out more about his behavior and what I can do to help train him a bit.
