Hi and welcome Eve. Just let him settle in for a while and just spend some quiet time next to his cage so he can get used to you and learn to trust you. Ringies are beautiful.

Dog or cat attack I think as it had fut missing down one flank. It was probably grabbed out of its nest

Your cat was lucky it wasn't savaged. These guys are small but they are very vicious. I've seen the leftover mess of a chicken one killed, not a pretty sight.

Someone rang me and said they had a brush tailed possum that needed care so I went to pick it up. When I had a look at it I was quite surprised as it was no possum. It was a brush tailed phascogale which is a native carnivorous marsupial which is about the size of a rat. This one was smaller, probably just about ready to leave the nest. Unfortunately he was in deep shock when I picked him up and didn't survive the night. Here's a pic of him. Here's a link about phascogales home.iprimus.com.au/readman/phas.htm

I've been so busy lately I haven't had much time to get online. Now that it's spring there's lots of rescued babies needing care. I have 3 crows, a western rosella, a baby tawny frogmouth I've named Oscar cos he looks so much like Oscar the grouch and another joey I've named TJ. He's still a pinky but starting to get fuzz. Oscar TJ when I first got him A week later And of course updated pics of Bella
