With all that has been happening I haven't had the time to post pics or even comment about our new boys. Two were brought home within 3 days of each other. The first one is a yellow face something, what do you think? Aren't I handsome??!? Such pretty, clear wings I just love this picture. The second one is a golden face (although he looks green in the pics, there is definate blue on him) dominant pied gray wing. (he also looks to me like ho could have some spangle feathers but I'm not too sure. What a cutie!!! What pretty wings!!! you can see some of the blue in this picture. As always name suggestions are appreciated. Hope that satisfied some picture needs!!

Very handsome! Aki is japanese for sky, so you could name either of the blue ones that. They both have the blue sky, white clouds, and yellow sunlight. Also, for some strange reason the last one just looks like a Chestor to me.

I really don't know how to say this right now but my new members are one less as of this mornig. We were feeding the baby and there was an accident where he fell. He must have landed wrong because he died in front of us. I am am beside my self with guilt right now. After losing Houdini, and now Turk, as we named him last night because he looked like a turkey when he ate, I don't know what to do. I love my birds dearly but right now I feel that they may be happier and safer somewhere else. Please don't think of me as a bad person but I really don't know right now.

I'm really sorry to hear about Turk, Melissa, but try not to beat yourself up. You did your best, and nobody can do more than that. I know that's cliche, but I know how you feel. One of my birds was egg bound yesterday. She seems to be doing okay now, but I keep thinking that if I took better care of her this wouldn't have happened. I know that I'm doing my best to give her good food and keep an eye on her, but she still might die from the trauma. Accidents happen even with the best intentions and care, and you're definitely not the only one out there that this has happened to. I hope this makes you feel better...I'm not too good at this kind of thing, but I mean what I say.

Melissa - first and foremost, your birds couldn't wish for a better home than they have with you. You are attentive and caring and the fact that you are feeling how you are at the moment reinforces that. As anyone with children or animals knows, with the best will in the world accidents do happen from time to time, and that's why they are called accidents. I'm a great believer in fate, and the fact that there is a reason for everything that happens to us. I had a terrible accident with my horse when I was 14 and at the time it was the worst thing that could have happened to me. Looking back though if we hadn't gone through that then I would not know my best friend in the world right now, and I wouldn't lose her friendship for the world. The most important thing is that we learn from our experiences, and use those lessons as we move forwards. All of the batties send our deepest sympathies to you, and lots of hugs - if you need any more evidence that your birdies are happy have a quick scan through the wonderful pictures that you have posted in the past - sure look like happy birdies to me
