She was fine this morning. There is NOTHING sharp in the cage.. nothing that has slipped anywhere, nothing that shouldn't be there.. but look what she's done. Theres smatterings of blood on the floor, but not heaps and three "smears" She's moving around and eating but after she's moved around she has a snooze.. Don't know what the fruit she did.. but it was sometime between 10am and 2pm. They're in next to me and im watching her.. she might go to the vet anyway just to be sure its not major.. but will see what mum thinks when she gets home. Surely she can't just start bleeding randomly?? It goes around to her vent but the blood is coming from the front and the staining goes to the vent..

Tegz, can Merlin have broken a blood feather? Try to have a look, because it will continue to bleed until you pluck it out

Not that I could see. I have to wait for mum to come home in an hour before I can handle her again cos she's jack of me and won't stay still, and it's hard to flip a budgie on her back and try and hold her still by yourself lol.

Well... you can no longer see the blood just a slight yellow stain. Shes been sleeping all arvo but there is no more bllod and she's eating and playing and being normal. She will be watched carefully tonight, and if she does it to herself tomorrow, she's going in no questions. The cage is about to be overhauled to see what she caught herself on.

She's fine this morning the little tart. Cleaned out the cage and scoured it from top to bottom... no sign of anything sharp!! Strangeness indeed.

Merlin sends a special kiss to Graham cos he reminded her mummy to give her millet. She also thinks Graham is a very spunky boy

That is such a lovely picture of her! It looks like she's spent hours with a hairdryer getting her feathers just right #cheesy#
