can anyone tell me how to calm a adolescent male tiel? he is going OTT on the singing and screaching! its ear piercing at times too! we have bought him a new toy, a mate called Lucy (who cant get any quiet time!) and lots of time out of his cage today which did help for a while. is there anything else we can do to calm him down? .........................yes i'm talking about that cute tiny yellow bundle we used to know..................goes by the name of "FLUFF"

I'm really not sure if there is anything you can do. This is a natural behaviour and i don't know if or how it could be stopped. Sorry i wasn't much help.

i read that the colour of the room hes in makes a diffference like a red room makes them angry and depressed and also if its green its a calm and more natural colour to them.

Alex, sorry but there is not much you can do, this is very very normal for Fluff, his male birdie hormones have kicked in. Only thing you can do is distract him with food, like greens, millet sparys and the like. It will pass and he will quieten down some what but he will be very chatty.
Cheers
Deb

lol most males like screeching and carrying on, (talking about birds). Paulie my alex is the same, and alex my gcheek has just started. This is probably cause my guys are in the same room together.
Alex your guy is just probably showing off to his new toy.
Have you thought about getting another mate for fluff?? This may settle him down
