hi Lucy has started to make noise! she chatters like the boys do sometimes. she hasnt gone into full song or spread her wings and sing like the boys do when they are trying to find a mate. Could she have copied the boys or is she actually a he? she is a pearl and looks just like my Jessie but is only about 4/5 months old so hasnt moulted yet. i know that she is a boy if she loses the pearling but wanted someone's opinion about her chattering. is it really unlikely that a hen can copy a male?

I had a female that did the same and thought that she could be a boy some hen can sing talk but you will know for sure after her moult

She may also just be copying the male's and the only real way to tell is wait until she moult's.
