Ok so no surprises....i'm new to this!
Now, I have 2 boys (Louis & Blue) in one cage - the holding cage, and a single girl (Flo) in the other - the breeding cage. Firstly, is this the correct set up? Ideally I wanted 2 females in the breeding cage, in hope to have two mating pairs...but I was advised not to do this. Is this correct?
I'm also worried about our girl Flo, she keeps trying to escape from the cage. Does this mean she's unhappy or stressed? or does it just mean she's after some lovin' from the boys?!!
This leads me to ask should I get her a friend? As i don't want to breed her right away because she's still young. Or should I move one of the boys in with her? (then the other boy will be lonely!)
Please help!!!

A big welcome to the Birdcrazy forum. Glad to have you with us. You will find with all the members your questions will get answered as we are all eager to help. Ok you have two cock Budgies and a hen. I would pick what i consider to be the best one and put the Cock with the hen. A cock bird in with the hen just might calm her down. I would also say the hen comes out of an aviary. You can always get another hen for your spare cock bird. I hope this helps you.

G'day & Welcome to Bird Crazy! You could also get another hen & put her in with your current hen. Same sex birds don't usually fight. I have 2 hens that have been together since they fledged and they are the best of friends, so much so that when I take one out for treatment (both slightly deformed) the other gets upset. If you put a cock bird in with the hen they will bond but it might also encourage them to start 'trying' for a family.
