I can confirm they are definately Goldfinches, we get them in our garden and they love Niger seed. In England you have to have a special licence to own them as they are a native wild bird and they must be closed ringed to ensure they were bred in captivity and not trapped as adults. They weren't trapped were they. Sorry no offence, I'm sure if you had any concerns about their history you wouldn't have bought them. I only ask because you didn't know which breed they were. I don't know what the rules are about owning this type of bird in your country. Check out this link to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds web site www.rspb.org.uk/birds/ Choose A to Z of British Birds and then G for Goldfinch, then you find it listed with a picture and details about it.

These cages are great, we have one as well, and they are easy to clean as you can wheel them around everywhere and change positions.

No offense intended #embarassed# , sending you congrats on such a great aviary, I've seen one of those and they are great. If you need a link to a supplier of Niger seed and the special feeders to dispense it let me know and I'll forward it to you. As I mentioned we get golds in the garden and Niger seed to a goldfinch is like chocolate heaven to us!!!
