Ive personally never seen a kakriki do this before now but...
Spice does this bobbing thing, sometimes he bobs up and down so hard that his feet leave the perch - do yours do this? Does anyone know why?

I haven't seen mine do this. My boys are pretty boring, all they do is eat, swim, eat, try and bite me, eat, annoy the other birds, eat, annoy the hens, eat - see the pattern?

I wish they were a bit fatter cos then they wouldn't be so fast!!
I think Spice must be acting the clown, if you laugh he might like the sound. He probably learnt to do it at the pet shop.

I've seen something vaguely similar from Beekle when he's playing with a pal in a mirror.
He'll start bouncing up and down while making an ascending series of squeaks. At the end he'll pause then repeat it. Whatever it means he's never directed it at me but seems to think it's worth saying to his reflection:
Buh-buh-bah-bah-beh-beh-bi-bi!
When he does it in his cage he makes the whole cage bounce on its spring.
